Avon Wilderness
Australia Day weekend 2025.
Friday: Drive to Licola, meeting at Rumpffs Flat campground.
Saturday: We will leave Rumpffs Flat into Licola along Tamboritha Rd up along Mt Margaret track and into the Avon Wilderness camping off Avon road.
Sunday: Head out of the Avon Wilderness up the edge of the Valencia State Forest on the Old Moroka Rd, then Moroka Rd to Kelly’s Hut.
Monday: Down Dingo Hill track, up the Butcher Country link track, Butcher Country track, MaCalister track back to Rumpffs Flat campground.
Tuesday: Head for home over Mt Skene and I t Jamieson.
Fuel: Mansfield and Licola.
Type of camping: Moving camp.
Trip limit: 10
Food and water: Carry enough for 6 days.
Clothing: Pack for all seasons as weather can change in the Victorian High Country.
