  the Dargo hotel Friday night. </p>\n<p>For those who want to drive in con
 voy we’ll leave Bendigo at 9am and head in via bright and buckland valley 
 exploring some tracks along the way to Dargo (the thinking is to take Buck
 land Valley Rd and come up Twins Jeep Track then take the Dargo High Plain
 s Road). Some may opt to just meet in Dargo on Friday night\, this is ok t
 oo. </p>\n<p>Saturday we will head along Crooked River and up Billy Goat B
 luff Track to the Pinnacles\, down Moroka Road to Avon Road to camp. </p>

 tr>\n<td>We’ll be base camping from Running Creek Camping Reserve\, which 
 is situated on the Howqua River. </p>\n<p>There will be day trips Saturday
  and Sunday – One will be Three Chain Track through Sheepyard Flat and alo
 ng Steiners Track. The other will be Symes Track along Mitchell Track to W
 rens Flat\, Silvermine Spur Track to Granny Flat and back to Mitchell Trac
 k.</p>\n<p>Campers and caravans are ok (driving in will be on a dirt road 
 along Howqua River Rd). Some may opt to come up Friday night and camp an e
 xtra night.</p>\n<p>To get there:</p>\n<p>Follow the Mount Buller Road fro
 m Mansfield towards Merrijig for 4km. Turn right at the sign to Jamieson a
 nd travel for about 26km. Turn left at the Howqua River Road immediately a
 fter the Howqua River. After approximately 10km on gravel road you will re
 ach the Running Creek Camping Reserve sign on your left. The campsite is 3
 00m from this sign. The track to the Reserve is a moderate slope and is ac

  quite a few new members recently\, and we’ve been using our winches on tr
 ips from time to time\, we thought it would be good to have a bit of a soc
 ial evening\, and also do some practice and demonstrations on using the wi
 nch. </p>\n<p>The venue will be Russell’s property in Bridgewater.</p>\n<p
 ><strong>Saturday Day</strong></p>\n<p>We will be using winches and practi
 sing using Russell’s test track\, on Saturday morning we will demonstrate 
 techniques for using the winch safely\, and if you have a winch on your ve
 hicle you can practice using it. If you don’t have a winch\, we encourage 
 you to learn as there may be times where you need to assist with other veh
 icle’s winch recoveries. You can also have a go at driving around the trac
 k in the afternoon.</p>\n<p>This should be good training whether you have 
 a winch or not\, so we encourage everyone to come along to this one\, as i
 t’ll be a great opportunity to catch up and kids / families are welcome as
  always.</p>\n<p>We’ll start at 9am\, and we’ll have a BBQ lunch at 12noon
  with left over snags from the open day.</p>\n<p><strong>Saturday night</s
 trong></p>\n<p>This will be a social night\, cook dinner and sit around th
 e camp fire. If you want to put something in the cookpot on the fire go fo
 r it\, there is a large fire pit. </p>\n<p>BYO camp chair\, and whatever y
 ou want to eat and drink. BYO swag / tent if you are planning to camp over

 days and this will be a family/kid oriented trip\, the proposed plan is to
  make the most of the 2 week school holiday period and leave Bendigo on Fr
 iday night to get through as much of the driving as possible over Friday\,
  Saturday and Sunday. If all goes to plan\, we should be taking the ferry 
 across to Fraser from Inskip Point on the Sunday\, and then spend at least
  a week camping on the island\, aiming to get back before the Easter weeke
 nd.</p>\n<p>Please register interest by the end of 2018\, and those intere
 sted will meet as a group and work out a more specific itinerary that take
 s into account what the group as a whole would like to see and do. The isl
 and is accessible via ferry from a couple of spots\, so allowances can be 
 made for people who need to leave the trip early\, wish to stay on\, or ex
 plore something along the way.</p>\n<p>My thinking is that we explore the 
 island at a leisurely pace\, and visit some of the popular spots as well a
