We recently had the opportunity to take another 4 wheel drive trip to Beachport, South Australia and it was an incredible adventure. Beachport is located on the Limestone coast and is known for it’s stunning coastline, sand dunes and rugged terrain.

We had 20 vehicles head down to Beachport from Wednesday onwards, making it a holiday as it’s a five hour drive down from Bendigo.

Our trip started on Saturday morning leaving the Southern Ocean Caravan park at 9.00am, heading along Scenic drive past Pool of Siloam(Salt lake) and along the coast, taking in the stunning views of the ocean and rolling hills. As we made towards the entrance to the beaches, we entered the 4 wheel drive section of the journey, which involved navigating through the sand dunes and steep hills. The vehicles we were driving handled the sand and terrain with ease and it was clear that this trip was going to be a thrilling and exciting trip.

We headed along the beaches to explore the coastline, the beach was stunning, with clear blue water and white sand stretching as far as the eye could see. We spent several hours driving along the beach, stopping for breaks to take in the views, swimming and even some trying their luck at some fishing.

We made our way into the coastal town of Robe, where we aired up and headed back towards Beachport on the highway. On getting back to Beachport a booking at the Beachport Hotel was made and a few headed up to the Pub for a meal and a well deserved drink after all that sand driving.

Sunday 12th March 2023

The next day on the Sunday and one of the highlights was visiting Canunda National park. Heading out of Beachport, then turning right onto the beach. Driving the beach all the way to Southend. Where we were able to explore more sand dunes and enjoy some of the most spectacular views of the coastline.  We reached a sand dune that tested all of us, having to let more air out of the tyres to 12-15psi. We all eventually made it up and we made it to the beach again, having a break, with the sea breeze coming of the water made it very cold. So back in our vehicles heading up the beach with a lot of soft sand making this part of the drive very exciting.

We eventually got back to Southend, back on the beach again heading our way to Beachport.

Getting back to  Beachport some of us tried the Beachport Brewery for a couple of their beers, then we had another booking at the Pub for a meal and drink.

Overall, the trip to Beachport was an incredible adventure, this is one place which is perfect for exploring and navigating the rugged terrain and coastline. Whether you’re a seasoned 4×4 driver or just looking for an adventure, I highly recommend a trip to Beachport South Australia.
