The club is generally pretty easy going, we all try to be mature, make sensible decisions, and are considerate of other people.
We do have a small number of guidelines that need to be followed for participating in trips and events, for safety, and the consideration of others.
- Follow the Four Wheel Drive Victoria Code of Ethics at all times and abide by the Club Constitution
- Make sure you have at least the minimum recommended gear in your vehicle for safety and recoveries.
- Keep your four wheel drive properly maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition
- Vehicles must be 4WDs and properly maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition, (we don’t run trips that are suitable for ‘soft roaders’ / AWD’s). Generally this means low range gearing, good ground clearance, and suitable tyres.
- There are risks associated with four wheel driving, damage to vehicles sometimes occurs, the final decisions about whether you attempt any track or obstacle is up to you, and you alone are responsible for any consequences of those decisions. Consider your ability and experience before attempting a trip, track or obstacle, and if in doubt, stop and talk to the trip leader.
- All occupants of vehicles on trips and activities should have appropriate ambulance membership or coverage through private health insurance, you and you alone are responsible for any ambulance costs should you need an ambulance or air evacuation.
- We love pets, however we do not allow pets on trips, most trips are in National Park areas where it’s not permitted anyway.
- We don’t allow generators to be used on trips, this is for the comfort and consideration of others (most trips are in National Parks where it’s not permitted anyway).
- No member may smoke or ‘vape’ within 10m of any other member unless the other member is also smoking/vaping.
